Jahmeshia Connor might still be alive today had the Chicago police taken her missing person report seriously. The girl's mother reported her missing on Nov. 15, 2009. As with all black youngsters, officials immediately felt she was a runaway until her body was found two weeks after she disappeared. A medical examiner concluded the 12-year-old had been dead less than one day, meaning she was alive during the entire two weeks that she had been missing. If only the police had searched for her; if only her missing person case was reported by the media; if only little black girls weren't always dismissed as runaways; this child probably would lived. Now the Chicago police are trying to find the killer of this little girl.
