10-year-old Shakeima was last seen at the Turning Point Grocery Store in Dillon, South Carolina on July 22, 1993 with her little brother and hasn't been seen since. Shakeima's stepdad, Sam Harmon was the last one to see Shakeima and he says that he left Shakeima & her little brother at the store. In August 2005, Sam was charged with murder, kidnapping, and criminal sexual conduct with a minor in connection with Shakeima's case. In 2008, Sam was convicted of kidnapping, but not murder and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
In 1992, Shakeima accused Sam of inappropriate touching, but charges weren't filed against him because of lack of evidence, plus Shakeima's story changed several times. Shakeima was close to her brother & grandma, and would've contacted them if she could. At Sam's trial in October 2008, an uncle of Shakeima says that 2 weeks before Shakeima disappeared, Sam told him ways he could dispose of a dead body. There's no physical evidence to prove Shakeima's dead, but Sam maintains his innocence in her disapperance.
Due to the circumstances involved, foul play is suspected in Shakeima's disapperance, but her relatives believed that Shakeima's still alive, and her remains have never been found. Shakeima had a double tooth on the upper side of her mouth and moles near the corner of her mouth & below her neck.
