10-year-old Leigh was last seen on April 7, 1974 in Revere, Massachusetts. Leigh shined shoes after school to earn pocket money. The week Leigh disappeared, he was grounded for poor grades in math, but his mom gave him permission to shine shoes at the Suffolk Downs Racetrack. Leigh was saving up money to buy his mom an Easter present. At 11:00am that day, Leigh left home and stopped at a restaurant at Beachmount Square for a sandwich and glass of milk. He asked the owner to watch his shoe-shining kit for a few minutes until he came back, but Leigh never came back. His mom reported him missing at 3:00pm, but the police told her to wait a few hours before filing a report, so she searched the neighborhood for him. An hour later at 4:00pm, the owner of the restaurant gave Leigh's mom his shoe-shining kit.
Leigh had 7 siblings and was a good 3rd grade student at the Louis Pasteur School. Leigh's parents are still alive and continue to look for him. Leigh's case remains unsolved. Leigh's nickname is "LeeLee." He has light brown hair and brown eyes. Leigh was wearing a white t-shirt with the phrase "Try It, You'll Like It" imprinted on the front, a blue sweater, and cut-off blue shorts on the day of his disappearance.
